Break Stuff Steal Things returns with a song about summer - that thing that comes rushing in, makes everything levitate a little in the air, and then disappears just when you were taking it for granted.
lyrics
Eternal summer
Your voice is amplified
Power supply might never die
All
Eternal summer,
The doors are open wide
Nowhere to hide from this electric feeling
All things must go
Don’t tell me so
Run in the breeze of the summer weather
The sun in the trees looking never better
A hundred degrees on your shift today
So clock out
And walk out
It’s time to make some waves
Splash splash!
Jump in, you’re wasting time
Crash crash!
Come on, the water’s fine
Flash flash!
I know you’ve heard it, but it still rings true
Splash splash!
Capture the rising tides
Crash crash!
Snapshot the lightning strikes
Flash flash!
No kind of picture could preserve this view
Eternal summer
Or so I’d like to think
Spit in the ink to make it last
All
Eternal summer
We’re standing on the brink
The painted rays are like the days, resounding
All things must go
Don’t tell me so
Chasing the tail of the dog day weather
To face the white whale where it lives forever
A race down the trail to the secret lake,
One more time
It’s your time
‘Cause now it’s make or break
Splash splash!
Jump in, you’re wasting time
Crash crash!
Come on, the water’s fine
Flash flash!
I know you’ve heard it, but it still rings true
Splash splash!
Capture the rising tides
Crash crash!
Snapshot the lightning strikes
Flash flash!
No kind of picture could preserve this view
Don’t let go of this yet
The glow is worth the sweat
And harsh realities are hardly here
Wish for an extra night
'Til we start losing light
And autumn befalls us yet another year
I think about that night a lot, and the thing I keep coming back to is that none of it would have happened without you. I mean, I wouldn’t have fallen, but you wouldn’t have helped me back up. I’d never give that for the world. That machine was so… HUGE and otherworldly, and as I clung to the side of it, I looked out over the trees and could barely believe I was real.
Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks. I’ll see you next year.
